What Calvinist Do Not Say But Says About Grace

It is true that as a person who accepts the five points of the Theology of Grace this is a a great understanding of it:

“For example, election, an element in the biblical portrayal of God’s sovereignty, never functions so as to destroy human responsibility, to the limit the urgency of preaching the gospel, to foster fatalism, or the like. It frequently functions to ties salvation to grace and to engender humility (Rom. 9), to encourage evangelism (Acts 18:9-10), and much more. Invitations to believe or to obey the gospel never function to make God absolutely contingent…For example, if human responsibility is made to depend on a definition of freedom that involves absolute power to the contrary, then God becomes absolutely contingent.” DA Carson Still Sovereign, 272-3.
