The Test of False Salvation Repentance Luke 3 Notes

SO HOW CAN WE KNOW AND SEE AND RECOGNIZE REAL SALVATION REPENTANCE?

Oh Hypocrisy, the Leprosy of the Soul.”

REAL RIGHT RIGHTEOSUNESS THAT SAVED!

MY PERSONAL TESTIMONTY ABOUT MY SALVLATION.

Personal Testimony:

The joy that I have of been saved, born again, in a state where God has forgiven me of my sin, free from the wrath of God, in a new relationship with God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, the guilt is gone, and has been replaced with a  spirit of rejoicing in my soul, heart, and mind, a new heart, a new creation, a new spirit, has come to me as result of God’s grace of salvation.

Christ came into my life back in 1954 at the Williamsroad Baptist Church, in Roanoke, Virginia that Sunday Morning.  While I was just seven years old, God in His providence brought me to salvation and I have grown in the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord every since.  The joy of the Lord has been in my spirit every since.  Salvation is a process that last in this life time and throughout eternity, God just keeps on giving  His grace to me.

What is grace in relationship to salvation?  Grace is all that God is free to do for unsaved mankind on the basis of the saving work of Christ on the cross.  Grace is extended to unbelievers, who are living under spiritual death in total depravity and total helplessness regarding salvation.

Therefore, salvation is a matter of grace, and entirely the work of God.  Salvation is the work of the Father in judging our sins, the work of the Son in being judged for our sins, and the work of the Holy Spirit in common and efficacious grace.  This is why the way of salvation is faith in Jesus Christ — faith alone with no works or emotions added to it.

THE TRUE PERSON WHO TRULY REPENTS:

  1. DEALS WITH PERSONAL SIN

  2. KNOWS ABOUT THE DIVINE WRATH. AND

  3. THEY REJECT RELIGIOUS RITUAL.

Other than Baptist and some others, most people believe that you can somehow make yourselves right with God by our prayers, alms-giving, by some religious ceremony you go through when you go to a place on Sunday. The Jews certainly did.

The Jews really believed that you could actually make yourself right with God through a number of rituals.

Luke 3 Total Depravity 1

Most of the people of the world do not believe in what we call “Total depravity.” (T.U.L.I.P.) A Romans study.

Judaism as I understand believe that Adam’s sin affected only Adam. And Adam sinfulness has nothing to do with anyone else. Therefore they believe they can make themselves right before God because no fallenness has passed on them.

Verse 8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance

The true test found in the manifestation of fruitfulness

The real thing always shows itself. Whether it is love, or friendship, or generosity, or gratitude, or trust, or repentance, it will evidence its genuineness in something more than profession. There are shams and there are realities in all these spheres, and the differences between them will stand out in the long run.

4. The Renounce of Family History,

Luke 3:8b andbeginnot to saywithinyourselves, We haveAbraham to our father:for I say unto you,ThatGod is ableofthesestones to raise upchildren unto Abraham.

  • As we learn in Romans 9 the Jews believed they were safe in the kingdom of God because they were from the seed of Abraham. And we address this in our study in Romans. They felt secure in their family pedigree. They were people of the promise of Abraham and David.

They had been promise salvation according to Galatians 3, the Abrahamic Covenant, but they didn’t understand that at all. JOHN 8:37-38 and Ezekiel 18:21-22, 30, Luke 13:18-20

God just sort of cut you out of a rock to begin with and God can make more of you if He chooses out of the rocks lying around on the ground. That’s nothing special.” John Mac.
